This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

I have been there more than 10 times, and really like the food there. It's a lot of food/meat for a reasonable price. I would recommend the following: 地三鲜:Di San Xian (Stir-Fried Eggplant, Potato, and Sweet/Green Pepper) 风味茄子:Crispy Flavored Eggplant , 辣子鸡丁:Sichuan Diced Chicken with Chili Peppers (Laziji)锅包肉:Guo Bao Rou (Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork)牛肋条烤串:Roasted Beef Rib Skewers / Grilled Beef Ribs on Skewers羊蝎子:Lamb Spine (Hotpot Style)

Heads up- these guys recently changed management. The previous good reviews that give this place such a high rating are for the previous skewer spot called L.O.L. Came to dine in tonight to because we are local and had a great experience with L.O.L and were glad we didn’t have to go to Flushing to get good skewers. Sad to say that Old Chief is NOT the same as L.O.L in terms of food quality and in service. The skewers now have about 40% less meat on it and because they don’t have the set meals anymore, it’s actually more expensive now for less meat (see pics for reference). The Mala Tang came out with no fatty beef or vermicelli noodles, just a bunch of spam and tripe. When I brought this up, the server insisted there was beef inside, then when I showed her there wasn’t, she said she can’t take it back because we already ate it (we didn’t). And then she said there was an upcharge for the beef. After some back and forth, she ended up adding some beef and noodle so we wouldn’t send it back (it’s supposed to have it??). $18 for a mala tang to have no beef or noodle is craazy. My water was not refilled all night, and no one came to check up on us (or the one other party sat) after th

Pretty decent traditional Chinese BBQ restaurant. Authentic flavors, warm ambiance. Beef and lamb skewers are highlights - tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service is friendly, and the value is good for the quality. A must-visit for BBQ lovers in Great Neck Plaza.

What a great find on a Thursday night! Was in the mood for something spicy and this hit the mark. Walked into a nice clean place with a chill vibe. Guy at the front was nice and the woman in the back was as well. Very friendly and accommodating. Got our skewer-warmer box and started ordering a variety of skewers and the spicy hotpot. Was offered some complimentary spicy chicken feet! Everything came out fast but piping hot. Food was delicious and spicy but the woman offered us some homemade chili oil that knocked it out of the park! Ghost pepper and Carolina reapers in an Asian style chili oil?! Yes please! Will come back even though we’re two towns over.
